Welcome!

Please, come in and make yourself comfortable…

Boston Unbuttoned exists to help people find sex-positive events and resources in the greater Boston area.

Why?

Boston is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city at the heart of one of the most liberal states in the entire U. S. of A–but it can be surprisingly difficult to find erotic culture here.  West coast cities like San Francisco and Seattle have thriving and well-organized sex-positive communities. As a newcomer to the Boston area, I have found that there are pockets of erotic community here and there, but they are scattershot and tricky to find.

Is it the Puritan heritage? An intellectual tradition that values the cerebral over the carnal? The cold winters? Whatever the cause, Boston Unbuttoned was created to warm things up a little bit, to get that blue blood to run a little more red…

So this is a place to find (or suggest, or promote) resources encouraging luscious sensuality, healthy sexuality, a well-developed and vibrant sense of the erotic.  Local is good, but if there’s something really tempting farther afield, well, how could we resist?

Please visit our events calendar and our list of resources. They are growing by leaps and bounds!  Your suggestions and contributions are absolutely welcome; please send them to the address on the contact page. Hey, and if you can’t find what you’re looking for, ask for it in the Questions and Requests page. Friends, help us out!

Needless to say, our intent is to appeal to the interests of consenting adults and to remain within the bounds of the law. Readers under 18, please visit scarleteen.com and then come back in a few years.

Thank you for visiting.  I hope this resource leads you to information, connection, community, delight. Drink deeply.

  1. Hey, congratulations on getting what should be a very cool resource up and running; I look forward to seeing how the site blossoms.

So here’s a question for those passing through here…. With the dog days of summer upon us, what’s your favorite place for unfettered outdoor play in Boston?

  2. Thanks for the warm welcome! That’s a terrific question… I wish I had a good answer. Anyone?

Perhaps I should take this as inspiration for another page on this site. Et voila: Questions and Requests

  3. being a buffalo girl i would like to say that the cold and intense weather made for more blizzard babies and weirder sex times. i believe that all a city needs is a groundswell for it to start moving around and getting sweaty. luckily, i think sweatiness (or sweatynuss) is one of the best things you can contract out there. the west coast has all just been passing sweat like a common cold for longer but the east will rear up like a beast yet~

  4. This is brilliant and Beautiful, thanks for being a force for change in the world.

  5. good luck with the new site

  6. Thanks for the kind comments and well-wishes! So nice to have visitors!

Pumpernickel, I take your point about the value of Indoor Sports during the cold winters. And I love the image of the east coast’s collective libido rearing up… though at this point I would be happy if it would merely stretch out langorously on the floor and offer its bare belly for some gentle petting.

  7. Great to see this started. I hope Cleveland isn’t far behind. (bookmarked)

    🙂
